Redruth School ARB (Area Resource Base)
We are proud to introduce our new £1.4m facility for children with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) at Redruth School. Our newly established ARB, designed to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for our students with social emotional and mental health needs, offers state-of-the-art facilities that are underpinned by our commitment to delivering high-quality education tailored to each individual’s requirements.
We pride ourselves on being part of the Redruth School community because not only do we offer specialist education to young people in the area, it means that our students can have the same opportunities to make friends to socialise with outside of school, join clubs and pursue their interests alongside their peers.
The ARB aims to use sport as a way for young people to self-regulate, which is why it was designed with a state-of-the-art sports hall in the centre of the building. At the heart of our provision is a curriculum built around the unique strengths and needs of each student. We believe in fostering a learning atmosphere that respects the individuality of every learner, ensuring that all students have access to personalised learning experiences. Our bespoke interventions are expertly crafted to support students in overcoming challenges, thereby promoting their academic, social and emotional development.
Our team comprises specialist staff, including qualified teachers and dedicated support staff, who are trained in various aspects of SEND education. These professionals are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver effective instructional strategies tailored to the diverse needs of our learners.
The ARB focuses on learning in small groups of students at the same stage of learning, which allows for more personalised attention and focused interaction. This approach not only fosters a supportive learning environment but also encourages students to develop essential skills for life, such as communication, teamwork, and resilience. Our ARB facility embodies a holistic approach to education, equipping students not only with academic competencies but also with vital life skills necessary for their future independence and wellbeing.
Above all our ARB epitomises our dedication to inclusivity and excellence in education, ensuring that all students thrive and reach their full potential.
