Lego League

Posted on: 22/03/2024

For the last six months a group of students from Y7 to Y9 have been working to build and code robots to take part in the FIRST Lego League Challenge, which is a world-wide competition. Students have designed robots to interact with models on the game table to complete specific tasks, coding the robot to complete these tasks. They have also been working on an innovation project, thinking about how the creative arts and technology can be used to pass on their passions. On the day of the regional finals, a group of 12 students went to RNAS Culdrose to take part in the competition. As well as practice sessions, the robot games and presenting their innovation projects, students were also able to take part in thought-provoking STEM activities and watch a ‘Mad Science’ show. Our teams, named the TerraTurtles (due to the robot having a habit of tipping onto its back!) and the Lego Lunatics, had a fabulous day celebrating all things STEM and teamwork.
