Last week put Year 7 STEM group competed against 60 schools with their rocket launcher car. They were given one hour, to shape a blue foam block into an aerodynamic shape that they had designed previously, as well as add the axles and wheels they created in school. They worked as a team to create a light weight but well built car. These were then raced using a rocket motor and a rocket motor launcher, by trained rocketeers.

We placed 15 out of the 60 schools that took part, and also were the best school from the South West of England!

We are extremely proud of our students that took part for their behaviour, team work, perseverance and humour has been incredible since they started the competition back in January and to place in the top 60 students out of the 75,000 that took part is just brilliant!
